'Fortnite' will be available on Switch, Nintendo confirms

You can now log in to the Switch version if you've previously played on Xbox, PC, or mobile, so this does appear to be a PlayStation specific problem. The Epic game is now available on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and iOS, in addition to the new Nintendo console.

Epic Games recently announced a $100 million eSports prize pool for Fortnite, which absolutely dwarfs the $2 million prize pot for the game's closest rival: Player Unknown's Battlegrounds.

Killer Queen is a multiplayer, arcade-style game that has teams of five players squaring off in a Joust-style combat.

It's also unclear if Fortnite Save the World will be ported alongside Battle Royale in 2018.

For those who want to be first to download the new game, you'll need to log into the Switch store at the time mentioned above.

However, it appears that this announcement has not wavered Sony in their hard-line position against supporting cross-play with other consoles as they have blocked PS4 Fortnite players from playing with those on the Switch.

Fortnite may be getting an update that allows players to gift items, possibly using V-Bucks.

Nintendo held their E3 Direct presentation this morning, where they revealed that last year's uber-popular platformer Hollow Knight is coming to Nintendo Switch.

As far as we can tell, this limitation also extends to Epic Games accounts tied to PlayStation Network accounts: since PSN-tied Epic accounts can't be used on Xbox One, it stands to reason that they can't be used on the new Nintendo Switch version either. One hundred people jump out of Fortnite's battle bus and parachute down to an island, search for assault rifles and gear, then battle it out until only one person is left standing, resulting in a victory royale. Previously leaked specifically on the Nintendo eShop, the Wingman Starter Pack looks to be purchasable on every platform that Fortnite is available for.
