Democrat Lisa Brown officially filed to run against Republican Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers for Washington's Fifth District Congressional seat. Every Congressional District in Virginia except one is contested this year. All 203 seats in the state House of Representatives and half of the 50 seats in the state Senate are also on the ballot this year.

Democrats mostly aren't panicked by the prospect of a Wallace nomination in the suburban 1st district - but most say they'd prefer to have a young, female veteran running for the seat who hasn't been gone as long rather than a self-funding candidate who hasn't lived there in decades.
