Ulunma Nwanaga, a gold medallist at the 2015 All Africa Games, who is representing Nigeria at the ongoing Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, on Thursday, said that she tried her best in her event.

Finally, there's a medal for Ghana at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia and it came from a likely source.

"Chukwuma could not participate in women's 100m because they said she had not acclimatized but God still shows His greatness in 4X100m relay".

Cameroon officials are still working with the Australian Border Force to locate their eight missing athletes.

This comes days after eight Cameroonian athletes went missing at the games, raising concern from the organizers.

Rwanda's chef de mission Eugene Nzabanterura said coach Jean Paul Nsengiyuma hadn't been seen since his athlete's event finished at the Carrara Sports and Leisure Centre on Tuesday.

Following the addition of the three more medals, Team Nigeria now has four gold, five silver and two bronze medals.

Commonwealth Games boss Peter Beattie said while the athletes' visas allow them to spend time enjoying Australia, they should return to their home country as scheduled.

Team official Chaudry said the sanctions didn't appear to be fair. "These are global athletes who have very strict training programs and they undertook their training as was expected", Cr Dobie said.

"We are having a meeting later in the day to understand the whole matter because the weightlifting official told us the two athletes had "gone visiting".

"We have a service to people who have legitimate visas to be in this country", he added. "(But) I think it's important to remember that these athletes are guests and within their visas they have the right to travel freely, but this is obviously an issue that Team Cameroon is monitoring very closely".

The athletes have not yet broken any law.
