Will Ferrell Hospitalised After Car Accident On California Freeway

Scary scene in Orange County, Calif. last night as Will Ferrell was involved in a nasty two-car accident.

Anchorman star Will Ferrell has been taken to hospital after a auto accident in California that left one person critically injured. The CHP said Ferrell was taken to Mission Hospital. He's also grateful for all the well wishes he and his friends are receiving.

"California Highway Patrol is investigating the incident".

The condition of the other driver involved in the crash was unknown, and it remained unclear what caused the auto to collide with Ferrell's vehicle.

According to Deadline, Ferrell's manager confirmed that the comedian, two colleagues, and the driver of a chauffeured SUV were struck by another vehicle whose driver had apparently fallen asleep at the wheel.

Before the crash, Ferrell was appearing at an event in character as Ron Burgundy, the buffoonish 1970s news anchor from "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy", according to posts on social media by people at the event and its host, amusing or Die.

Ferrell, best known for playing anchorman Burgundy and various other "Saturday Night Live" characters, was reportedly returning from that event at the time of the accident.
