This is the 2019 Camaro: Turbo 1LE, controversial 455hp SS, more

The chassis, according to Chevrolet, was derived from the V6 1LE to offer solid track performance.

Sporting a more intuitive interface (something Chevrolets have been missing all these years) focused on user engagement with the next-gen Infotainment 3, the new Camaro now also gets a standard Rear Camera Mirror on 2SS and ZL1 models.

All versions of the 2019 Camaro - except the ZL1 - get some front-end tweaks, however "including the fascia, grille, LED dual-element headlamps and reshaped hood", Chevy notes.

For a long time, many complained that the sixth-generation Camaro didn't differentiate itself enough from its fifth-generation older brother to even warrant a new generation.

It's unclear whether the Turbo 1LE will ever make it to Australia, though with the Camaro 2SS-spec model due this year, it's unlikely we're going to see a 2.0-litre turbo showing up with it.

Chevrolet has finally taken the wraps off the 2019 Camaro facelift. It includes an FE suspension with larger diameter front and rear stabilizer bars, tuned dampers, stiffer rear cradle bushings and cross-axis ball joints in the rear tow links for better lateral stiffness. The 2019 Camaro SS also gets the "flowtie" Chevy emblem, unique headlights and an extractor-style hood.

The 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine with 275 hp and 295 pound-feet of torque carries over to the refreshed model.

New 17-inch wheels designs are added across the trim levels with new 18-inch machined wheels will be available for the RS package.

For 2019 Chevy is bringing a Camaro Turbo 1LE to join the V-6 1LE, SS 1LE and ZL1 1LE to round out Camaro's lineup of 1LE track stars. Brembo brakes with low-metallic performance pads provide stopping power, and it rides on 245/40R20 (front) and 275/35R20 (rear) tyres. It also includes an electronic limited-slip differential, Magnetic Ride Control, and FE4 performance suspension. GM has also given the new vehicle the latest Infotainment 3 system from Chevrolet, with improved Bluetooth, more apps and enhanced graphics. Well, you don't have to worry about that anymore as the camo has officially been cut loose on the 2019 Camaro and it's...well, it's interesting.

2019 Camaro SS now offered with 10L80 10-speed paddle-shift automatic transmission featuring custom launch control and line lock. The rearview mirror is a full display, beaming video from the rear of the auto on the 2SS trim.

Chevy also says it's improved the Camaro's rear-vision camera, rear camera mirror and performance data recorder systems.
