In Bombshell Interview, OJ Simpson Claims Dan Rather 'Saved My Life'

When asked what kind of stuff, he clarified, "Blood and stuff around". According to Simpson, his pal Charlie followed him in with the knife just as Goldman "kind of got into a karate thing".

"I still had so many feelings", he said, noting how he was still upset about an incident that happened months prior, in which Nicole made her notorious 911 call claiming the Heisman Trophy victor was going to "beat the s-t" out of her.

Simpson's hypothetical account comes as part of a 2006 interview with book publisher Judith Regan, for the Fox Network.

O.J. SIMPSON: This is very hard for me to do this.

"The one thing that hurts me as much as anything in this - aside from being considered a murderer - is being a batterer", O.J. said.

While heralded as hypothetical, it was Simpson's frequent use of the first-person, vivid details of the crime scene, and implication of a hypothetical accomplice named Charlie that had many referring to this interview as a blatant confession.

Simpson was found liable for the deaths of Brown and Goldman in a 1997 civil trial.

Former NFL star and actor OJ Simpson was released from prison in October 2017 after serving nine years for a botched armed robbery.

"I don't know why he had been by Nicole's house, but he told me: "You wouldn't believe what is going on over there". If I'd know he said this in 2006 I would not have objected to the release of this video", Darden said.

Hall of Fame running back O.J. Simpson somehow escaped a conviction for killing his ex-wife and Ronald Goldman in June 1994.

Wrong said the producers reached out to Simpson, who did not respond. Simpson: "The Lost Confession?" to blunt the debut of castoff "Idol" on ABC and somehow bought the Pro Football Hall of Famer and former sportscaster's occasional, nearly winking and once laughing reference to the account he presented of the 1994 murders and bloody crime scene as "hypothetical".

Did O.J. Simpson confess there? I may have seen him around, but I really didn't recognize him to be anyone. That's why Rupert Murdoch eventually apologized for partnering on the project and shelving the interview and why the publisher spiked Simpson's book.

Due to American Double Jeopardy laws, Simpson can not be charged with the murders of Nicole Simpson and Ron Goldman again. He claims that he has no memory of the horrific murders. "When she asks him about the bloody clothes, he says 'I do remember that. If something like this were to take place in anybody's life, I'm sure it's something you'd have trouble wrapping your mind around".

DEGGANS: Journalist Soledad O'Brien hosted Sunday's special, leading discussion among a panel that included Darden, Regan, a friend of Brown's, an Federal Bureau of Investigation profiler and an expert on spousal abuse. In the call, which was used as evidence in his murder trial, she told police that he had "broken into" her house and was "ranting and raving outside in the front yard".
