Could Google have a rebrand in store for Android Wear?

Could Google have a rebrand in store for Android Wear?

It also looks from the new logo like there will be a keen steer toward Google Assistant as the centerpiece feature. In version 12.5, which is the latest beta, you can see changes to both the name and logo. Some Reddit members speculate that it could also be "Watch OS" but if that's the case, there might be some confusion between this name and "watchOS" which is an Apple product. We assume that the new update of Android Wear will bring the support for Google Assistant on all the Smartwatches running on Android Wear operating system. The company could be planning a reinvigorated push into the wearables market, spearheaded by a new platform name that stands distinguished from the company's other software.

Google is reshaping its search bar for its mobile site and it will now appear more rounded, much like the search bar on the Pixel launcher. The Nearby feature helps to detect and pair-up with near Android devices and services. A while back, companies were racing to unveil new Android Wear gear. They might officially change the name of a device by the time of releasing Android P or during the Google I/O conference that will be held in May. The same thing is going to happen with the Android Wear.

Google launched the new payment services and they are promoting the Android Wear in the same way they have done branding new pay app.

Retooling the Android Wear platform to Wear OS actually makes a lot of sense now, especially as it's not for Android-only compatibility devices anymore.

Since there is no any official confirmation about this rebranding available with us, we are unable to confirm the same.
