Google Duo Video Messages Make Sure You Never Miss The Moment

Google Duo Video Messages Make Sure You Never Miss The Moment

An option to Leave Video Message will be displayed on the call screen as soon as you start a call. There will also be an option to leave a voice message if you prefer. Now Duo users can leave video messages to each other. And like all calls made on Duo, video messages are secure and end-to-end encrypted. And after you've watched their video message, you can tap the "Call now" button to easily call that person right back.

Why Google apps overlap is a question for another day, though. Google says that if someone you are calling declines or misses the call, you can record up to 30 seconds of video as well as voice to send to the person to watch later. But for those who do, the app offers pretty good audio and video quality, according to App Store reviews. A much needed feature, isn't it?

Google says video messages are rolling out today on iOS and Android, and will go live worldwide "in the next several days".

Google Duo is adding a useful tool which lets you reach out to your contacts even when they are not available. It already has FaceTime, Apple's proprietary video calling platform, and Duo's presence in Apple's ecosystem makes little sense. If it gets enough daily active users, Duo can really be a strong player in the video calling landscape.

Do you use Google Duo?
