Cleveland Cavaliers vs Oklahoma City Thunder: Lineups, preview & prediction 2/13/18

Russell Westbrook (sprained left ankle) and Carmelo Anthony (sprained right ankle) returned to Oklahoma City Thunder practice Monday. Expect another strong showing from George on Tuesday against the Cleveland Cavaliers if Russ and Melo remain out.

With each dynamic performance from Paul George, Oklahoma City Thunder fans get a little more nervous.

And then the Thunder decided to make it rain from 3-point range. At Boston, George Hill, Rodney Hood, Larry Nance Jr. and Jordan Clarkson combined for 49 points, with three of them coming off the bench to bolster the reserves. The Thunder beat Memphis Sunday without them, and has won two out of three (including that victory over Golden State).

Michael Sykes (SB Nation) on Thunder fans and the "We Want Paul!" chant: "The Lakers have always been connected to Paul George in free agency this summer and Lakers fans joined in on the pursuit with a "We want Paul" chant in the Staples Center on Thursday night". And the two wins during that stretch were decided by an average of 19 points, capped by a 110-92 rout of the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday as 4.5-point home favorites.

The Grizzlies and the Thunder face off again on Wednesday night at FedEx Forum. If the Thunder could play with this same energy against the lesser competition they would be sitting at the top of their conference, and the more time this group is able to spend on the court with each other, the more consistent they will become. The Thunder had just 16 assists in their first game without Westbrook Thursday. Paul George - 36 points. Assuming Lebron James does not join as well, this Lakers team plus Paul George would struggle to make the playoffs in the West.

Berry Tramel on Alex Abrines' shooting and how it ignited the win over Memphis: "Abrines nailed all four of his first-half 3-point shots and scored 16 first-half points". "We got shots, we worked on some defensive stuff, concepts".

"Yeah, I loved it", George said.

Who Public Bettors Like: Oklahoma City. "Obviously, they have guys who are capable shooters but we just didn't do a good enough job off the ball defensively to help one another".

He looked on his way out a week ago, but the massive roster overhaul before the deadline might turn the table around for the Cavaliers.
