Chinese woman follows her bag into X-ray security scanner

Chinese woman follows her bag into X-ray security scanner

"You see new odd things every day", a person wrote on social media after seeing the Dongguan footage.

This is the moment a passenger climbed into an x-ray machine because she did not trust train security staff with her handbag. I can see them thinking.

The woman left onlookers shocked at Dongguan Railway Station in south China when she climbed into the security scanner.

While the commuter was happy to put her luggage onto the conveyer belt, she refused to be separated from her handbag.

According to reports from Chinese media, she'd sent her bigger bags through the machine and tried to walk through the security check point while wearing her hand bag.

Passengers behaving oddly at railway stations is nothing new in China, especially during the Lunar New Year period as tens of millions of people make their annual journeys home to spend the holiday, which officially starts on Thursday, with their families.

Despite the operators trying their best to stop the violation, the woman traveled the full length of the conveyor, emerging unscathed, with the handbag intact at the far end.

They were told the radiation given off by the machine had the potential to be harmful to anyone silly enough to climb inside.

But if you're laughing at this woman, thinking there's no way someone could be that outrageous as to get inside an X-ray machine, think again.

It's unclear though why she did such a thing - possibly she had a lot of cash that's traditionally given as a gift for Chinese New Year.

Even if you're particularly attached to your belongings, don't jump into an X-ray machine.
