Samsung Galaxy S9, Galaxy S9+ to feature '3D Emoji', stereo speakers

Samsung Galaxy S9, Galaxy S9+ to feature '3D Emoji', stereo speakers

The Samsung Galaxy S9 is rumored to include a rear camera aperture control (as bright as f/1.5), dual rear cameras on the larger S9 Plus as well as stereo speakers.

The phone is also expected to feature an improved camera while some analysts believe the Galaxy Note 9 will feature the upcoming Snapdragon 845 CPU, at least in some regions. The new Dex pad is said to be launched alongside the Galaxy S9 Duo. The company was expected to do this with the Galaxy S8 previous year but we all know that didn't happen. Samsung will most likely announce the feature's real name when it introduces the Galaxy S9 and the S9 Plus. Korean publication ETNews reports (translated) that the Galaxy S9 will be the company's first smartphone to come with stereo speakers, which should translate to a superior audio experience. Evidently, the 3D emoji feature will be more advanced than Apple's Animoji.

According to the latest report from overseas, the Galaxy S9 is getting a major hardware improvement, something I think we've all been asking for.

If you aren't sure what it is, it is basically a feature that creates 3D emojis using the facial expressions of the user. On the S8, the single bottom-firing speaker can easily be covered when playing games or watching videos in landscape orientation.

Lastly, the report mentions that the Galaxy S9 duo will feature Bixby 2.0, which is expected to be enhanced and the smartphones will continue to feature a dedicated Bixby button as well. Of course, there is no suggestion about whether or not this will be included with all devices or just the test ones.

The rollout of Android Oreo on the Samsung Galaxy S8 range is also bringing relief to the firm's long-suffering emoji users.

Aside from facial recognition, the phone's other biometric features could include a fingerprint sensor (which some believe may be baked into the screen instead of on the back) and an iris scanner.
