Bill Haas injured in fatal vehicle accident near Riviera

The Ferrari was heading down North Chautauqua Boulevard in Pacific Palisades around 6:30 p.m. when it lost control and crashed into a BMW, according to KTLA.

Police told KTLA television station that another vehicle driven by actor Luke Wilson was "clipped" by the Ferrari but the "Legally Blonde" star was unhurt.

Haas was scheduled to play this week in the Genesis Open at the nearby Riviera Country Club, located in the Los Angeles community of Pacific Palisades. It's owned by actor Luke Wilson, Fischer said. The PGA statement said that the person killed was a member of the family hosting Haas and his family for this weekend's Genesis Open.

The 46-year-old was uninjured after the crash which also involved professional golfer Bill Haas.

The crash involved a Ferrari and a BMW, according to a report from the scene. When the Charlotte native returns to the PGA Tour remains to be seen.

An overhead look at the Ferrari in which Bill Haas was a passenger during a auto accident on February 13 near Riviera Country Club.

The 35-year-old Haas was taken to the hospital, suffering from pain and swelling in his legs.

CNN has reached out to representatives for Haas and Wilson, along with PGA officials.

UPDATE: KTLA reporting Haas was indeed the passenger, and that he is expected to survive.

"Bill will withdraw from the Genesis Open and plans to head home to Greenville to recover".
