New Kingdom Hearts 3 trailer reveals Monsters Inc

Along with showing off some new gameplay, the trailer showcased the newest world in the much-anticipated title: Monsters Inc.

We then get to see a quick cut-scene featuring the Toy Story gang before a montage of different worlds featured in-game, namely the Monsters, Inc. warehouse complex with Sulley, Mike, and Boo.

Square also used the conference to discuss other elements of Kingdom Hearts 3. A video featuring the game's new theme song - performed by J-pop megastar Utada Hikaru, as with the original Kingdom Hearts and its sequel - was also revealed. The exploration part is said to be a bit "open-world" and the second part is enemy focused through a combat phase. But the glimpse of Toy Story's world was easily one of the highlights of the new footage. However, there hasn't been anything officially stated about these options.

While Kingdom Hearts 3 is expected to release on PS4, a release for Xbox or PC is, at present, unclear.

While the earlier Kingdom Hearts games seemed to concentrate more on the "classic" Disney elements, Kingdom Hearts 2 saw the game embrace some of the more modern classics. Intrigued? So are we!

Square Enix has also stated that the release date for this long-awaited sequel will be unveiled at E3 2018. Excited for the addition of Mike and Sully? With it, we not only learned about a new world that's being introduced to the game, but also when we'll finally be able to know when it comes out.

Shelby loves all things horror and anything even remotely nerdy.

Kingdom Hearts III has been a long time coming. She has a real passion for literature and the indie gaming community.
