Idris Elba to marry former Miss Vancouver Sabrina Dhowre

VALENTINE'S Day came early for Idris Elba, who proposed to his girlfriend of less than a year, Sabrina Dhowre, during a screening for his new film Yardie.

One person tweeted, "At cast & crew screening of YARDIES & Idris Elba just proposed to his girlfriend Sabrina!".

Elba, 45, has been dating Dhowre, a 29-year-old actress and model, for less than a year.

The Rio Cinema in London took to Twitter to confirm that Elba proposed to Dhowre during the screening.

ET has reached out to Elba's rep for comment.

The news may come as a shocker to many of his fans as he told Essence magazine in July 2017 that he would likely never marry again.

"Falling in love while making a movie about falling in love is pretty special", the actor told People following the pair's red carpet debut at the Toronto International Film Festival a year ago. He has a 3-year-old son named Winston with his ex-girlfriend Naiyana Garth.

This will be the third marriage for Elba, who was previously Wednesday to makeup artist Hanne Norgaard and lawyer Sonya Hamlin.
