Google Play Store will soon start selling Audiobooks

With the upcoming update, there will be a dedicated portion of Google Play, which will keep things more organized. There is also no information on when the Google Play Store audiobooks section goes live. With audiobooks coming soon, the Google Play Store will expand its media offerings, which now include apps, TV show, movies, music, and digital books.

When the banner was clicked, it didn't work and is not appearing for everyone. The upgrade will open the door to a whole new section of the Play Store, loaded with the latest and greatest audiobooks from leading authors.

According to reports, the banner that promoted the decision to add audiobooks to the Google Play Store appeared a few days ago. At the time of publishing, that link doesn't work and simply 404's, but it seems to be appearing for all users both on the web and within the Google Play app on Android.

The link to it now does not work, though that could change very soon. 9to5Google is reporting that the company has begun advertising audiobooks, and that a user's first audiobook purchase will be 50 percent off. From our point of view, the audiobooks on Google Play Store will set new benchmarks not only for reading enthusiasts but also book lovers.

There would be plenty of benefits you would get once the giant introduces a complete dedicated Audiobooks section on the Play Store. Android Police found references to audiobooks in an APK teardown of the Google Play Books app and found code for several new features, including audiobooks. Other companies too are improving support for audiobooks, so Google needs to offer all categories of digital products through its Play Store.

Google's move to offer a simpler way to search and buy audiobooks will challenge Amazon's domination in the market. owns Audible and had recently audiobook support on its Kindle devices.
