Valencia 'Confirm' Coquelin Deal on Social Media

Valencia have completed the signing of French midfielder Francis Coquelin from Arsenal.

Either way the Arsenal boss has obviously decided to make do without the 26 year old Frenchman who was once the answer to all of their defensive midfield problems.

Coquelin, who has signed a four-and-a-half-year contract with the high-flyers, revealed at his presentation that Los Che were interested in him last summer but he opted to stay with.

"He told me that Valencia CF is an excellent club, that I wouldn't regret coming, and that Marcelino is a great person and a great coach", Coquelin said.

Coquelin spoke to former Arsenal team-mates Shkodran Mustafi, Nacho Monreal, Hector Bellerin and Santi Cazorla about the move.

"I have seen the team, they are going along very well, they are third in the table".

Jack Wilshere's return to the Arsenal team helped limit Coquelin to one Premier League appearance this season.

The Spanish side teased Coquelin's arrival on Twitter, with reports in Spain claiming Arsenal could get as much as £22m from a deal that should be officially announced in the next 24 hours.

The 20-year-old has largely been used as a left-back by Wenger this season due to injuries but he thinks this will stand him in good stead in a defensive midfield role. "I let him go", Wenger said after Wednesday's 0-0 draw with Chelsea.
