Donkey Kong Barreling His Way Into Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle DLC

Donkey Kong Barreling His Way Into Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle DLC

Donkey Kong is headed to the game as a playable character, complete with an exclusive new storyline and world to explore.

There won't be almost as many bonuses with the port of Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, though we will get to play as Funky Kong in a new game mode.

The Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle story content starring Donkey Kong will release on Nintendo Switch in spring 2018.

As you'd expect, the game support co-op play using two joy-con separately as well. Finally, we'll get two new costumes for Link and Zelda based out their outfits from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Said mode is "beginner-friendly" - players have a hover move and double jump alongside infinite rolls and underwater corkscrews.

As announced in the Nintendo Direct Mini this morning, Tropical Freeze will hit the Switch in a few months.

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze launches for Nintendo Switch on May 4.

This rebranded Definitive Edition will include all of the many, many DLC packs thus far - meaning you can play as Link's Awakening's Marin (yay!) and the gender-swapped Linkle.
