Game Of Thrones Final Season Debuts In 2019

At last, HBO has confirmed the long-speculated news that its flagship hit series Game of Thrones is taking a year off. No one is sure at this time that at what point Game of Thrones will air in 2019, but we can tell you that the final season of the series will consist of total six episodes.

The news comes on the same day it emerged Game of Thrones writer George R.R. Martin has seen another of his books, Nightflyers, given the greenlight by Syfy in the United States and Netflix internationally.

"As the biggest hit in HBO's history, one the subscription service hoped to continue for additional seasons, keeping the show around a while longer isn't a bad thing", wrote Entertainment Weekly's James Hibberd.

Benioff and Weiss executive produce along with Carolyn Strauss, Frank Doelger and Bernadette Caulfield.

It will be a long wait for Game of Thrones (GOT) fans as they will have to wait for more than a year to see the final end of the award-winning saga.

The seventh season was ended in August 2017 with an average of over 30 million U.S. viewers per episode across multiple platforms.

Game of Thrones Season 7 aired in summer of 2017 and previous seasons had usually run in the spring.

But the question on fans' minds is when, exactly, will GoT return? Miguel Sapochnik ("Hardhome", "Battle of the Bastards" and "The Winds of Winter"), David Nutter ("Rains of Castamere"), Bryan Cogman ("Kissed by Fire") and Dave Hill will also direct. Co-executive producers are Bryan Cogman, Guymon Casady, Vince Gerardis and George R.R. Martin.
