Joel Embiid Gets The Last Laugh Against KAT In Instagram War

Joel Embiid Gets The Last Laugh Against KAT In Instagram War

A day after leading the visiting Philadelphia Sixers past the Minnesota Timberwolves 118-112, Joel Embiid not-so-subtly began trolling Karl-Anthony Towns on various social media platforms.

They placed some blame on the Sixers' big man for their 23-point loss Thursday night.

But that's Timberwolves star center Karl-Anthony Towns in the Instagram photo, watching Embiid get by him for a bucket.

Embiid, however, saw this comeback as ideal ammunition to post one of his own and roasted KAT with a brutal response, saying: "Better quality than your defense".

The pic Embiid shared came from the play below.

Way to go, JoJo. "I thought I was coming out".

Fox, who was replaced in the lineup by fellow rookie Frank Mason III, had two points, two assists and two turnovers at the time of his departure from the game. I didn't realize, I forgot he's like the King of Instagram and Twitter. He made a comment, and they call me Tro-el Embiid, so I don't let things go by. "Somebody waved at me and I took off and he said, 'Not yet'". That was the theme of the night for Minnesota, which recorded 29 assists - 20 from the trio of Towns, Jimmy Butler and Jeff Teague. Andrew Wiggins added 22 points as all five starters scored in double figures. Thibodeau adjusted his rotation Thursday beyond a three-man bench by calling upon second-year swingman Marcus Georges-Hunt, who played 17 minutes and defended Kings shooter Buddy Hield.

Bloomington Jefferson graduate Cole Aldrich, the Wolves' backup center, scored his first bucket of the season in the game's final minute.

In their matchup, Towns ended up with 19 points, 16 rebounds and three blocks, but shot only 6 for 16 from the field.

Towns also got into a back -and-forth with Embiid on social media in the days after Tuesday's loss. "It's nice to have some clarity as the end result, and that comes back to the team doing an awesome job and my teammates being fantastic all night".
