Churches invite public to Christmas services

It will be held at 4 p.m. December 17.

The West Chapman Advent Christian Church invites families, friends and neighbors to two special Christmas season worship services. There will be no 8 or 10:30 a.m. service and no Sunday School.

Following the short service, lunch will be provided in the church hall (directly behind the church), served by members of First Lutheran Church. The service will include special music offered by youth pianist Grace Wiersma and a vocal solo by Annie O'Donnell. On Saturday, Dec. 23, at 5 p.m., there is an Advent IV service, and on Sunday, Dec. 24, at 9 a.m.an Advent IV service.

Memorial Baptist Church, Pee Dee Avenue, Norwood will have a drive-through live nativity "From Birth to the Cross" from 6-8 p.m.

Our Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church, 54 Cedar Swamp Road, Smithfield, will host services on Christmas Eve, Sunday, Dec. 24, at 6:30 and 11 p.m., and on Christmas Day, Monday, Dec. 25, at 10 a.m.

Green Memorial United Methodist Church, 11495 N.C. Highway 138, Aquadale, will have its Christmas Cantata at 6 p.m. titled "Baby Jesus King of Kings".

The Blue Christmas Service is a time to gather in a quiet and safe space. Service of healing, memories, and Christ's presence for when Christmas does not feel like a happy time.

The Christmas Eve services are an opportunity for families throughout the community to come together to celebrate this special night in a meaningful way.
