Morgan Stanley fires former congressman Harold Ford Jr

Photo Harold Ford Jr., a former congressman, was sacked from his position as a managing director at the financial services firm Morgan Stanley for what the company described as behavior "inconsistent with our values". The investment bank launched a human resources investigation after the woman accused Ford Jr. of harassment and the results led to his dismissal.

Despite the woman claiming to have emails in which he apologized for the behavior, Ford Jr. denied her allegation without hesitation on Thursday.

"In regards to news today, This simply did not happen", Ford said.

"One woman heard from Ford's accuser the night of the incident and described her as 'distraught, shocked, and frightened, ' and said that she was concerned about any career ramifications should she report the incident", the Huffington Post wrote. "I have never forcibly grabbed any woman or man in my life".

Ford issued a statement after the firing in which he threatened to sue the bank and his accuser. He identified the alleged victim as a news reporter and further expounded on the allegations. "I will now be bringing legal action against the reporter who has made these false claims about me as well as Morgan Stanley for improper termination".

Ford strongly denied the allegations in a statement, writing: "I support and have tremendous respect for the courageous women now speaking out in this important national dialogue".

Former US Democratic congressman Harold Ford, Jr. was sacked by Morgan Stanley for inappropriate conduct.

Ford was hired by Morgan Stanley in 2011 as a senior client relationship manager. He is alson one of the most visible members MSNBC's team of contributors - particularly on the network's "Morning Joe".

Mr. Ford served five terms in Congress as a Democrat representing a Tennessee district after first being elected in 1996.
