Ex-Viking Warren Moon sued (again!) for sexual harassment

The civil lawsuit was filed on Monday in California, according to the Associated Press. The suit also says Moon grabbed her crotch in Seattle as well as pulling off her bathing suit after drugging her drink in a trip to Mexico in October.

The Seahawks released a statement on Wednesday saying the team has accepted Moon's request for a leave, although it did not provide a reason.

"Mr. Moon recognizes that his duties as a commentator on the Seattle Seahawks radio network will be impacted as he defends himself against these claims, and he has requested a temporary leave of absence from his duties with the Seahawks, which has been granted". "This week, Dave Wyman will join Steve Raible, Jen Mueller and John Clayton from Jacksonville on 710 ESPN Seattle and KIRO Radio 97.3 FM". Haskell claims she was demoted in October for complaining about Moon's sexual advances.

Moon was Pac-8 co-Player of the Year in 1977 when he led the Huskies to the conference title and a win over MI in the Rose Bowl, in which he was MVP. He went undrafted by the NFL and led Edmonton to five Canadian Football League titles.

Moon retired after a 17-year NFL career in 2001 as one of the most prolific passers in league history. Oh, and he's on the board of trustees for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Moon never played in a Super Bowl, but was named to nine Pro Bowls during his career (Pro Bowl MVP in 1998).

Moon threw for 49,325 yards and 291 touchdowns in the regular season and was elected to the Hall of Fame in 2006.

Moon was also sued for sexual harassment in 1995 when he was playing for the Minnesota Vikings. The case was settled out of court within days. Moon was accused of slapping and choking his wife, and then pursuing her in a vehicle chase when she fled their home. Authorities charged Moon, anyway, but Moon was acquitted after Felicia testified she provoked the scuffle. Moon's former executive assistant at his Sports 1 Marketing firm filed a lawsuit against him this week.

Wendy Haskell, 32, has filed a suit alleging that Moon regularly groped her and harassed her when she was traveling with him for speaking engagements, charity events, and other appearances.

Additionally, the lawsuit claims Haskell was required to keep the bathroom door unlocked while she showered and Moon repeatedly entered the room.

Haskell's attorney, Diana L. Fitzgerald of Miami, told the Post that her client did not report Moon's alleged sexual battery to police because, according to Fitzgerald, "I think she was scared".
