Chelsea boss Antonio Conte fined £8000 for misconduct

Antonio Conte has been fined GBP 8,000 (USD 10,700; Euro 9,060) by the Football Association following his dismissal for a furious touchline tirade in Chelsea's win over Swansea.

The Italian was sent to the stands by referee Neil Swarbrick in the first-half of the contest after being incensed by an incorrect decision not to award Chelsea a corner-kick.

The BBC report that Conte will merely have to pay an £8,000 fine and will not be hit with a touchline ban. I was angry because, despite it happening twice, I said to the fourth official "look, they are wasting time". I shout this. I accept the decision of the referee'.

'In this case, the referee has to try to protect the team that want to win, want to play football'.

"Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has been fined GBP 8,000 after he admitted an FA misconduct charge and accepted the standard penalty", an FA statement said.

Premier League champions Chelsea lie third in the table and travel to West Ham on Saturday.
