Time releases short list for 2017 Person of the Year

The poll provides insight about how our readers view the people who most shaped the year.

The list was unveiled in no particular order, kicking off with Bezos, who has vastly expanded the reach of his company Amazon over the past year on his way to becoming the richest man in the world, and the first to have a net worth of over $100 million. Also on the list are The Dreamers, who are at risk of being forced to leave America after Trump's White House revealed its intentions to rescind Obama's legislation protecting immigrants who came to the country as children. If the Trump Administration follows through on plans to end the Obama-era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, their futures could be seriously jeopardized.

Director Patty Jenkins is returning behind the camera for Wonder Woman 2, and is now co-writing the script with Dave Callaham (The Expendables, Godzilla) and DC Films co-chairman Geoff Johns.

Wonder Woman 2's release date was recently moved from December 13, 2019 to November 1, 2019 following the delay of Star Wars: Episode IX from its May 2019 release slot to December 20, 2019 when J.J. Abrams took over the film.

Formerly with the San Francisco 49ers, Mr Kaepernick drew the ire of the President after he began kneeling during the signing of the national anthem ahead of NFL games.

The #MeToo movement was launched as claims of sexual misconduct spread across Hollywood and into other industries. It also recognized the social media #MeToo movement for fueling a moment of reckoning about the treatment of women in the workplace.

Finally, Robert Mueller made the short list. He has since brought charges against four people in his on-going investigation of potential involvement of the Trump campaign in Russia's efforts to influence the 2016 presidential election. He's the son of Saudi Arabia's King Salman.

"I said probably is no good and took a pass. Thanks anyway!" VOTE in the poll below! TIME will announce its latest "Person of the Year" on Wednesday.
