OnePlus announces 5T Star Wars limited editions; know features, specifications, price here

There are some potential spoilers for The Last Jedi in the copy below.

After teasing the special Star Wars Edition of OnePlus 5T at the Bangalore Comic Con event, the company has finally confirmed when it plans to launch the device in India.

The silver-grey edges and back panel are there to evoke the colours and style of the rather unique lightsaber main antagonist and pseudo emo-Sith Kylo Ren uses in both The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi. It kinda reminds us of the original OnePlus One. OnePlus 5T was announced just last month and went on sale only towards the end of November, so the new variant is not different in terms of its hardware or design. A Star Wars theme appears to be on offer, which should offer a little more from a galaxy far, far away on the phone's software side. A few days ago, OnePlus had announced a special edition Lava Red edition that's exclusive to China to celebrate their 4th anniversary.

The company will be launching the limited edition smartphone at an event in Mumbai on December 14th at 7pm. Rather than come in red as earlier reported, the phone is white with the familiar Star Wars logo engraved in red ink at the bottom of the phone.

Ticket sales for the event will kick off on December 7 at 10 a.m. on Paytm, and we'll let you know once they're up for purchase.

The alert slider is now red but the volume rocker (and power button) is black. Those attending the event will also get an official Star Wars T-Shirt and OnePlus Star Wars laptop bag and there will be an experience zone after the event.

It is no surprise that the Chinese company has chosen India for the launch of the special edition phone.

So far the phone has only been announced for the India market but the exact release date isn't yet set.

The China-based smartphone maker OnePlus launched OnePlus 5T in November a year ago.

It features a 6.01-inch Full Optic AMOLED display, having a full HD+ resolution.
