Warriors' Shaun Livingston & Referee Courtney Kirkland Both Suspended For Altercation Sunday

The NBA determined that the incident began when Livingston "aggressively approached" Kirkland while addressing a non-call with 6:24 left in the second quarter of the Warriors' 123-95 victory over Miami.

The NBA on Monday suspended Warriors guard Shaun Livingston for one game stemming from his altercation with referee Courtney Kirkland that led to his ejection in Sunday's win over Miami.

"The reason that Shaun Livingston was ejected was for making physical contact with me", Kirkland said to the pool reporter.

Shams Charania of The Vertical reported the news Monday, noting Kirkland will also be "removed" for a week.

Livingston was scheduled to sit out to rest during tonight's game against the New Orleans Pelicans either way, as head coach Steve Kerr is being mindful of his veterans' minutes, expecting another deep run into the playoffs. "It was only one technical and he was ejected immediately". "He's a pro that's been in the league for so long and just plays the game and doesn't really say much. It did look like from watching that Courtney stepped into his face and he tossed him out".

With Livingston out of the lineup, Andre Iguodala and Nick Young could earn time at backup point guard.
