Mega Man Back: Capcom Announces Mega Man 11 Coming In 2018

In a frenzy of Mega Man-themed news, Capcom has unveiled a brand-new mainline series entry in the form of Mega Man 11, re-releases for all Mega Man X games, and the long-awaited release of both Mega Man Legacy Collections on Switch. The game will come to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in late 2018.

More than 32 million copies of Mega Man games have been sold since it debuted on the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1987.

Mega Man 11 - revealed towards the end of the very nostalgic trailer below - is another 2D action platformer, but it has a new art style instead of replicating the NES style as Mega Man 9 and 10 did.

Along with Mega Man 11, Capcom also announced that the retro collections Mega Man Legacy Collection and Mega Man Legacy Collection 2, which had previously made their way to the Xbox One and PS4, will also be making their way to the Switch sometime next year. Mega Man was also able to upgrade parts of his armor permanently by finding hidden capsules. Capcom today officially announced during a special Mega Man livestream event the upcoming release of Mega Man 11.

What platforms will Mega Man 11 be available for? In turn, Capcom has tried to honor Mega Man in many different ways.

If you simply can't wait for Mega Man 11, you'll have some other Mega Man games to play between now and then.

Mega Man Legacy Collection contains the first Mega Man game through Mega Man 6. You can check out a first trailer for the game, below. These games will now include a Rewind feature that will allow players to go back and correct past mistakes. The PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC versions of the collection will receive an update to add this feature.
