Matt Lauer Will Not Receive a Payout From NBC

Lauer previously earned $20 million a year with NBC, and somehow believes that despite his predatory behavior, he is still entitled to the remainder of his contract, which was supposed to run through 2018. His lawyers came up with the sum of $30 million that he would be owed by NBC after his firing, according to the New York Post's Page Six. Lauer "will not be paid past his last day of work", the source said on Friday, December 1.

The sprawling "Today" show franchise makes hundreds of millions of dollars a year in ad sales.

The senior NBC News source did not dispute that Lauer's attorneys might hatch a plan to get him paid. "Morale clauses" are typical for television news contracts and this case applies.

Two people close to Lauer expressed doubt that he would play hardball with his former network.

Matt Lauer's wife long-suffering wife Annette Roque has reportedly left NY for her native Netherlands amid allegations that her husband sexually assaulted and abused multiple female staffers at NBC. He has multiple properties and investments.

According to the credible timeline, NBC News President Noah Oppenheim and chairman Andy Lack were completely unaware of Lauer's inappropriate behavior with staff members and alleged misconduct until a very recent time. The statement also said Lauer would not receive any sort of monetary settlement after his dismissal.

NBC News found out about the complaints from three different women.

"A team of the most experienced NBC Universal Legal and Human Resources leaders have begun a thorough and timely review of what happened and what we can do to build a culture of greater transparency, openness and respect for each other", Lack said.

21st Century Fox was widely criticized for paying former Fox News chairman Roger Ailes when he resigned under pressure amid a sexual harassment scandal previous year.
