Bungie Addresses Upcoming Updates and Changes in Destiny 2

There will be another function for Legendary Shards, Commander Zavala and Lord Shaxx will sell consumables that will grant more rewards in Strikes and Crucible. You can use the materials then make your favorite legendary into a new Masterwork weapon.

Also, Armor Ornaments will be added onto some existing armor and you won't have to remove your shaders or mods, they will function like Exotic weapon ornaments.

"Destiny 2" developers admit that they have been less than transparent in their treatment of players after the recent controversy with XP mechanics. Also, if you like to raid, or if you run Trials of the Nine, you'll have a higher chance of snagging these weapons. Xur will sell one Fated Engram to the player per week, and the engram is guaranteed to contain an exotic the player does not now have.

One last maintenance window will happen on December 5.

Addressing the XP system complaints specifically, Bungie explained that the hidden scaling for repeated missions was meant to "keep slower-paced activities as rewarding as high-intensity grinding without confusing variations in displayed XP values". That includes a new class of "Masterworks" weapons that improve on the current top-end Legendary weaponry with better stat-tracking, tooltips, and stat bonuses. The two changes combined meant that players are just about six percent better off in terms of level gain, and players were justifiably furious.

As many of you may have noticed, a lot of people quit Competitive matches within the first few minutes which leads to an unfair match.

Most of the time it felt like playing better did not result in better drops, but this may change. We won't see this update until next year.

The full post goes into much more detail on a variety of planned improvements to the game, including expected timing for some features announced back in October.
