Outrage mounts over Meek Mill's prison sentence

Outrage mounts over Meek Mill's prison sentence

Judge Genece Brinkley fell under heavy scrutiny after delivering an arguably unjust sentence to Philly rapper Meek Mill for a violation of parole. "Undercover agents have been in the courtroom monitoring the Meek proceedings since April 2016".

"The feds have an interest in the judge and [her] potential relationships", reports Page Six.

Tacopina says the judge requested that Meek Mill remake the Boyz II Men song "On Bended Knee" and shout her out on the track.

Now, fans have trouped to the streets to show support for the rapper who have been in and out of prison since he was 19 and has now been given two to four years in prison for violating his probation in a 2008 gun and drugs case.

"Sadly there are Black folks going through the same radicalized injustice (s) within the justice system that Meek Mill has experienced for over a decade EVERY SINGLE DAY", he tweeted.

"(Meek's) frustrated, really frustrated and knows he's being treated different than anyone else", Tacopina told CNN in an interview last week. One of Meek's attorneys Joe Tacopina made allegations against Judge Brinkley, believing she has a personal vendetta against the rapper.

"He's been on probation for almost 10 years". This is an investigation looking into a possible extortionate demand.

Tacopina later added that Meek is "a strong kid" and his community will stop at nothing to ensure justice is served. "I want you to know that I am personally invested in him so that he can help others".

"So this practice of jailing people when you feel like it against the recommendation of your own constituents and in this case it was a district attorney and it was his probation officer-that's got to stop". Rumor also has it that the judge advised Meek to detach himself from his current label, Roc Nation, and sign with a friend of hers.

He alleged that when the hip hop star laughed off the request the judge declared she was "not kidding" and when Meek refused she said "suit yourself".

A petition calling for Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf to pardon the musician, real name Robert Rihmeek Williams, has also garnered more than 300,000 signatures, although authorities insist Wolf does not have the power to interfere in the case.
