NFL's Marquise Goodwin Scores Touchdown Hours After Baby Son's Death

Despite losing his son earlier in the day, Marquise Goodwin managed to score a touchdown helping his team to its first victory of the season.

After San Francisco's 31-21 win, Goodwin posted to his Instagram account that he and wife Morgan's baby boy died Sunday morning because of complications during her pregnancy.

Goodwin and his wife Morgan lost their baby boy due to complications that led to a premature birth just hours before kickoff at Levi's Stadium. "The pain (physically, mentally, & emotionally) that she has endured is unbelievable", Goodwin wrote.

Marquise Goodwin caught an 83-yard touchdown pass that put the team ahead of the New York Giants halfway through the second quarter.

As Goodwin ran into the end zone, he blew a kiss to the sky.

Both Goodwin and his wife attended the University of Texas at Austin and they Wednesday in February of 2016. He is also a former Olympian who competed in the long jump in track & field.

In a lengthy post of her own on Instagram, Goodwin-Snow said, "This whole week has taken an emotional toll on my husband and I, struggling to keep our healthy baby safe in my womb. He had a wonderful game today". In September, the fifth-year National Football League veteran shared a photo of him and his wife kissing while holding an ultrasound image.

I appreciate everyone who kept us in their prayers and constantly checked in on us. "It's just important for us to remember that things happen for a reason, even though we may question ourselves 'why us.' Our faith is strong".
