Radamel Falcao Clarifies His On-Field Whispering Against Peru

Plenty questioned Colombia striker Radamel Falcao's actions towards the end of the game, with some suggesting he was telling Peru to play out the draw that helped both sides.

In a helter-skelter final round of South American qualifying, Los Incas' 1-1 draw with Colombia was enough to see them finish fifth above Chile.

"We knew what was happening in the other matches, we were playing with (the knowledge of) the other results and in that moment (I tried) to transmit that (to Peru)", Falcao said after the match. Commentators have since referred to the incident as the "Pact of Lima".

The FIFA 2018 World Cup qualifiers have witnessed close encounters all over the world as top teams battle it out to secure a berth for the upcoming Russian summer.

"What I can say is that this team will never give up". The match was very tight.

Chile were on course for Russian Federation during Tuesday night's final round of CONMEBOL qualifiers until Peru equalised against Colombia in the 76th minute. "We suffered a lot but in the end we did it".

It actually sees Falcao discuss with multiple opponents, but also one of the players peruvians ask his bench, "you going?" as if to confirm the information he had just received. "To be in this situation was one of the goals we had at the start of the qualifiers", he said.

The Chilean FA's vice-president has confirmed that the body will not report Peru and Colombia to Federation Internationale de Football Association over an alleged pact struck to send both teams through World Cup qualifying at the Roja's expense.

"It seems to me, although it is the responsibility and decision of the directors, we must speak and evaluate what they want for the team, try to choose the best option", Pizzi said.

"I think we could do a bit more against Colombia, I would have liked to win and qualify directly for Russian Federation".

"It is a baseless rumour, no measure will be taken against Peru and Colombia", the official told Blu Radio.
