North Korea foreign minister: Trump has 'lit the wick' of war

Trump threatened in the United Nations speech to "totally destroy" North Korea if forced to defend the USA or its allies.

The Corporate Association of Kaesong Industrial Complex that represents the 123 South Korean manufacturing companies that operated factories in the North Korean facility said Thursday it wants to send a delegation to inspect their property.

While the officials said the exercises are long scheduled and not in response to recent tensions, similar exercises have prompted strong condemnation from North Korea in the past.

Australia's foreign and defense ministers visited the heavily fortified inter-Korean border Thursday and emphasized the need to inflict "maximum diplomatic pressure" to rein in North Korea's nuclear ambition. It could also breach the latest United Nations sanctions barring the North's textile exports if the country seeks outbound shipments.

North Korea's been tied to data breaches before, including the infamous 2014 hack of Sony Pictures Entertainment in retaliation for its release of "The Interview", a comedy about an assassination plot against North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.

The North's official media touted the party's byungjin policy - which pushes for simultaneous development of nuclear weapons and the economy - and added that military power was "the guarantee for victory".
