Tom Brady says he'll play in Week 6: 'I'm not anxious about'

Now, as Phil Perry of NBC Sports Boston reported, the Patriots got some good news, as Brady was out on the practice field Wednesday.

Brady has undergone tests for the injury but is expected play in the team's Week 6 game against the Jets in NY on Sunday, sources told ESPN's Mike Reiss.

Patriots quarterback Tom Brady suffered an AC joint sprain in his left, non-throwing shoulder, an MRI confirmed on Tuesday. The injury was re-aggravated during their Thursday Night Football matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The game was a particularly brutal one for the Patriots quarterback, who was sacked three times and hit six times over the course of 60 minutes.

Sunday will be Brady's 241st career start in the regular season. Guregian describes the injury as a "left shoulder irritation".

The 33 hits are tied for 7th most in the NFL, while the 16 sacks are eighth most in the league. It's only Tuesday and giving a 40-year-old quarterback a day off doesn't seem like the worst idea. During a time when nearly all quarterback's bodies break down (late 30s, early 40s), Brady has not missed a game he has been eligible to play in since that 2008 season.
