Super Mario Odyssey gets a live-action music video

Super Mario Odyssey is arguably one of the most anticipated game for the Nintendo Switch. And just like how the game looks to bring Mario's world into our real lives, an accompanying trailer for the game does the same where the famous plumber shows off his best moves alongside a dance troupe.

In conjunction with the video's release, Nintendo is also offering gamers to download a short version of the song for free on the game's website until January 2018.

By now, there shouldn't be a doubt in anyone's mind that Super Mario Odyssey is going to be at least a little weird.

The song has been a key component of Nintendo's marketing material ever since the platform holder unveiled the game back in January earlier this year at its Switch preview presentation, but now the song, "Jump Up, Super Star" has been remade in live action. So apparently I'm not the only one who sees a stage in Mario's future.

This trailer also does a great job in showing how Mario's feats amaze the people around him, as everyone smiles in Mario's wake. The story here is that Princess Daisy is the mayor of New Donk City, and moonlights as a singer, giving Mario a little serenade during his adventure in New Donk City.

This month's copy of EDGE was delayed to accommodate the Super Mario Odyssey embargo.
