Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 launch in India today: Expected price, specifications, features

This year in June it launched the OnePlus 5 but by August it had competition in the form of Nokia 8 by Finland-based HMD Global.

Chinese smartphone and electronics maker Xiaomi has launched the much anticipated Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 at a launch event in New Delhi. All these phones are priced at the Rs 35,000-range. Check the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 Features, specifications, price, and availability details from here below. I know, I know, what you will be thinking now.

Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 features a 5.99 inch Full HD+ (2160 x 1080 pixels) 18:9 display.

In India, the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 will cost Rs. 35,999/- for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, dual-band (2.4GHz and 5GHz) Wi-Fi 802.11c, Bluetooth v 5.0, GPS/ A-GPS and USB Type-C. For selfies, it comes with a 5 Megapixel front camera. The dual-SIM (Nano-SIM) Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 features a 5.99-inch FHD (1080x2160 pixels) 18:9 display with a pixel density of 403ppi and a DCI-P3 colour gamut.

Xiaomi has only brought the standard 6GB/128GB version of the smartphone to India. The recently launched Xiaomi A1 is also getting a very positive response and is getting sold out in a few minutes during its flash sale.

The highlight of the display is that Xiaomi has removed the earpiece giving the screen more area. The Mi Mix 2 is a considerable improvement over the original in nearly every way.

When it comes to the build, the Mi MiX 2 sports a stunning design made with aerospace-grade aluminum alloy with curved ceramic at the corners. The company has also been expanding its offline presence and has been setting up more Mi Homes in the country, which will prove useful as it tries to market the Mi Mix 2. It's smaller. It's more approachable.

Crisply visible in direct sunlight and considerably dim in low light, the display on the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 works really well. The screen is protected using Gorilla Glass 4, while the back is protected using ceramic, which is twice as strong as Gorilla Glass panels.

The fit and finish of this smartphone are on par with the likes of Samsung and LG and Apple. It always prices its devices aggressively and knows that it is one of things the consumers love about it. "With Mi MIX 2, the future is now here", Xiaomi CEO and Co-founder Lei Jun had said in a statement. The phone has no 3.5 mm headphone jack either.
