Wal-Mart promises 35 second in store returns

Wal-Mart promises 35 second in store returns

Mobile Express is Walmart's growing brand of app-based services, which include the Mobile Express Money Services and forthcoming Mobile Express Pharmacy. Store purchases should be integrated into the system by early 2018. The company also is creating a similar streamlined returns process for items sold by third-party sellers on Walmart.com, according to the discounter. "That's why we've completely transformed the process for our customers". The company says this will remain true so long as currency exchange rates remain as they now are.

That's it. Refunds will be credited to customers' payment account as soon as the next day, and they will no longer have to send off their product and wait days for an online return to be credited.

"It is clear that Wal-Mart intends to continue to turn up the heat online", Moody's analyst Charlie O'Shea said in a note. Before this change, consumers needed 5 minutes to return a product. Each returned item can either be returned for a refund or exchanged.

When you need to return an item to a store for one reason or another, the process can be tedious and inconvenient. Early next year, simplified in-store purchase returns will begin.

"They're thinking, we're in a position to actually steal from them by allowing people to buy online from us but returning it to our stores", said John.

Walmart is also testing the idea of a new service in Silicon Valley that lets a delivery person walk into shoppers' homes with internet-connected locks when they're not there to drop off packages or put groceries in the fridge. "We're executing our strategy and moving with speed to win with the customer, who is more connected than ever".

United States retail giant Wal-Mart has continued to improve its customer service and user experience this week, announcing improvements made to the efficiency of its returns service.

Amazon announced in August that it has made deal with retailer Kohl, which offers Amazon returns, shipping as well as packaging service for free at more than 80 of Kohl's department stores in Chicago and Los Angeles.

Carol Spieckerman, a retail consultant and president of Spieckerman Retail, believes Wal-Mart's new return options are another "real step in the right direction" in finding solutions to problems that often can alienate customers. Mobile Express Returns kicks off in November.

"We feel good about where we are as a company", Brett Biggs, CFO of Wal-Mart Stores Inc, said in a statement. It's also deploying digital kiosks called Pickup Towers at a hundred of its stores which spit out products bought on Walmart.com.

Wal-Mart Stores Inc (NYSE:WMT) stock was on the rise today following news of its strategic plans for the future. Expect those numbers to go up as return times go down.
