Angelina Jolie 'Volunteered' To Ensnare African Warlord In Dinner Honeytrap

According to The Sunday Times, documents from the International Criminal Court (ICC) were recently leaked to the French website Mediapart.

Luis Moreno Ocampo, the court's chief prosecutor, had hoped to embed the actress and possibly her estranged husband Brad Pitt with some USA special forces close to what they believed was a Kony stronghold where hundreds of children had been taken, the Times reported.

Kony and his guerllia Army are believed to be behind the kidnappings of at least 30,000 children, many of whom were abused and forced to serve as child soldiers. He reportedly kidnapped thousands of children and forced them to join his army. Kony also kidnapped young girls and forced them into prostitution to service LRA officers, among other war crimes of which he is accused.

It's safe to say that Jolie and Ocampo's plan never came to anything, because Kony is still at large.

Other leaked ICC documents show that Jolie was not the only celebrity Moreno Ocampo attempted to persuade to join the worldwide justice organization's efforts against genocide and human rights violations. Moreno Ocampo thought there was a chance that Jolie's presence would draw Kony into a vulnerable position, where special forces could capture him and bring him to trial for crimes against humanity.

While she's regularly been seen doing work for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), RadarOnline report the 42-year-old and estranged husband Brad Pitt were part of a ploy to try and "honeytrap" African warlord Joseph Kony. "She is ready. Probably Brad [Pitt] will go also", he said in another email.

In another email sent directly to Jolie, the 65-year-old prosecutor said, "Apparently you can be embedded with the special forces that are chasing Kony. I miss you." It went unanswered. Moreno Ocampo wrote. "Brad is being supportive. Let's discuss logistics. Much love Xxx".

The star's assistant later informed Moreno Ocampo that Jolie had changed her personal email address. Jolie was one of many horrified by Kony's actions, and was willing to use her celebrity to put an end to his despicable acts.
