Four women of a family, guard killed in Delhi

In a shocking incident, five persons were found dead inside a house in Mansarovar Park area of Shahdara district in New Delhi on Saturday morning.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shahadara) Nupur Prasad said that he suspects that the killings could be a fallout of a property dispute.

The police received the call at around 7.30am and rushed to the spot.

The jewellery the women were wearing was also found intact which indicates that the ransacking was done to mislead police into believing it was a robbery gone wrong, an officer said.

The deceased have been identified as Urmila Jindal, and her daughters Sangeeta, 56, Nupur, 48, and Anjali, 38.

Given the nature of murders, the police have formed multiple teams to identify and nab the suspects. While reports claimed that the murder may be linked to a possible property dispute, The Times of India report noted that the police is still interrogating the family members to understand the possible reasons behind the killings. But they ensured that locals barely got to enter the sprawling house", said Shoaib Qureshi, a garments trader in the area.On Saturday, as speculations made rounds that a property dispute could have caused the murders, the family stood united against the allegation."We have never been involved in any property dispute.

"Urmila's husband Ramkishan and his six brothers had established the Jindal Oil Mill in 1932, but later after he and his brothers passed away, Urmila started renting their 2,700 yard property in small portions to over 100 shops".

"There were 40 members in our family living in the ancestral house". His aunt's throat had been slit. "No one heard anything".

Two of the daughters were unmarried and the eldest was a widow. "It looks like the accused were professional killers", the woman said. Four family members and one guard were murdered.
