All Blacks pip the Springboks in tight affair: Reaction from Twitter

New Zealand weathered a Springboks storm to win 25-24 in the Rugby Championship on Saturday and complete another clean sweep of the southern hemisphere tournament.

While the All Blacks made it six wins in a row against the Springboks, the home team emphatically shook off the horrors of their 57-0 loss to the All Blacks in their last meeting, three weeks ago in Auckland.

Both teams scored three tries in a pulsating battle.

The Springboks won back respect at Newlands against the World Champions and Rugby Championship winners but it was the latter who emerged victorious for the sixth successive time against South Africa.

Springboks - Tries: Ross Cronje, Jean-Luc du Preez, Malcolm Marx.

Marx was the standout player as he was menacing at the breakdown winning crucial turnovers and was imposing with ball in hand.

South Africa certainly restored some pride after being beaten by a record 57-0 in New Zealand last month.

"I'm sure we will - we do most games".

Crotty scored in the first half following a charge down, Ioane's breakaway intercept try came against the run of play, and McKenzie's score near the end was the result of a brilliant break from deep. We are heading in the right direction.

The All Blacks had to overcome setbacks in the form of injuries to Beauden Barrett and Nehe Milner-Skudder, with Lima Sopoaga effortlessly stepping in for the former.

"You've got two young guys who are going to take a bucket-load of confidence out of being under an extreme amount of pressure and come out and know that they can do things well", said coach Steve Hansen after Saturday's narrow victory. It comes individually, we each need to do what we need to do to be ready for kick off.

South Africa showed the necessary desperation and commitment and also played with greater balance in approach than was the case against the Wallabies in Bloemfontein.
