You Can Now Share Instagram Stories to Facebook Stories

Last month Instagram confirmed its testing the feature to Mashable but didn't share any other information.

After testing in Portugal last month, the option to syndicate Instagram Stories to Facebook Stories has now also appeared for United States users.

Instagram the photo-sharing app, was bought by the social media giant Facebook in 2013 for $1 billion, and since then the two apps have had constant links to each other.

"You now have the option to share your Instagram Stories to your Facebook Stories".

TechCrunch says the cross-platform Story sharing option should come to everyone soon, but it's now only created to work in one direction: from Instagram to Facebook.

Facebook has been aggressively pushing Stories onto all of its platforms. It could also help Facebook Stories gain traction.

In August Facebook announced it's bringing Stories to the desktop. Facebook's own Stories feature has been slower to take off. The company is now officially enabling cross-posting of Stories from Instagram to Facebook.

Initially, users could only share to friends or groups of friends.

We knew the feature was in the works in early September, but now TechCrunch says it's official and just a matter of rolling it out to all users.

Yet Stories hasn't been a huge success for the company.

In any case, when this option is rolled out, it will most probably cut down the trouble of manually uploading Stories on each platform separately.

This feature should make it a lot easier to post your Stories on both apps, ensuring as many people as possible see highlights from your day.

Critics are saying the same about the move to cross post Instagram Stories to Facebook.
