RIP Frank Vincent from The Sopranos and Goodfellas

The actor "died peacefully on Wednesday, a statement from his family said", according to The Associated Press. The cause of #death has yet to be revealed, but Vincent had reportedly suffered a recent heart attack.

Martin Scorsese, who directed the late Frank Vincent in three films, is paying tribute to the famed onscreen tough guy who died Wednesday at age 80. What are some of your favorite memories of him on TV or in movies?

In addition to The Sopranos, Vincent made small-screen appearances on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, NYPD Blue and Walker, Texas Ranger.

Vincent played a gambler who gets killed by the mob in The Death Collector (1976) - the film starred Joe Pesci, a pal who helped get him the role - then was cast alongside Pesci and Robert De Niro as Salvi in the iconic boxing movie Raging Bull.

"Our family will never forget the Leotardo legacy", HBO, which was home to "The Sopranos" for its six seasons, tweeted. Longtime friends, Vincent and Gallagher started working together back on 1990's "Street Hunter".

Frank Vincent was also known for his work in HBO's iconic television series The Sopranos. Leotardo would end up playing a key role in the series.

Vincent had small roles in two Spike Lee films, Do the Right Thing and Jungle Fever, and also was in The Pope of Greenwich Village, Last Exit to Brooklyn, Night Falls on Manhattan and Shark Tale, among his more than 50 films.

Besides Leotardo, the ruthless NY mob boss who frequently clashed with Tony Soprano on the popular drama and who was memorably "whacked" at a service station, Vincent portrayed gangsters for director Martin Scorsese.

Involved in show business for 41 years, Vincent was one of the most recognizable character actors.
