Awkward 'MNF' debut makes ESPN's Sergio Dipp an online star

ESPN didn't like Dipp catching slack from Twitter and so they pulled him after one spot. While the Broncos' last-second thwarting of the Chargers' fourth-quarter comeback was exciting, the game will be most remembered as a landmark in diversity.

Dipp - who was working in his second language Monday as he primarily appears on ESPN Deportes broadcasting in Spanish -was the subject of Internet mockery after his 30-second clip for the ages.

"Beth, coach, it's a pleasure to be with you guys", Dipp said with the enthusiasm - and nerves - of a young man in the moment of realizing his dream. And who, you might ask even if you saw the game, is Sergio Dipp?

Sergio Dipp became the No. 1 Twitter trend Monday night after he gave a memorable sideline report during the National Football League game featuring the Denver Broncos and Los Angeles Chargers.

"Growing up in the American environment as a minority, a minority like head coaches Vance Joseph and Anthony Lynn", Dipp says. "You watch him now on the screen", he said.

Dipp hesitated and finally gave some scant details about Joseph's background and emphatically stating the coach was having "the time of his life".

Dipp, who caught wind of the reactions and the criticism, quickly uploaded a video offering a honest apology for his fumble and pleaded for a second chance from viewers. " comments online. Others began lamenting the fact that Dipp was apparently not allowed back on the air".

"I truly meant no disrespect, because all I want to do was to show some love to these two historical head coaches".

I don't know much but I know I need Sergio Dipp on all the broadcasts from now on.

Dipp has worked with ESPN since 2013.
