The FA threaten fans with lifetime bans for new Alvaro Morata chant

The FA threaten fans with lifetime bans for new Alvaro Morata chant

He added that the club is telling supporters neither the Spaniard or Chelsea want anything to do with the chant.

The Spanish striker scored Chelsea's opening goal yesterday in a 2-1 win at Leicester but the victory was marred when some travelling fans repeatedly sang: "Morata, whoa, Morata, whoa".

THE Football Association will be launching an investigation after a number of Chelsea supporters chanted an anti-semitic song on Saturday.

In celebration, some Blues' supporters were reported to have sang: "Álvaro, oh, Álvaro, oh".

The club-record acquisition from Real Madrid is establishing himself as a hero at his new club and he headed his third goal of the season to open the scoring on Saturday. "He came from Real Madrid, he hates the ****ing Yids", referencing the club's rivalry with Tottenham Hotspur. We made an initial statement after the game the other night, but I'm happy to make clear: Chelsea Football Club finds all forms of discrimination abhorrent, and the language that was used in that song the other night was totally unacceptable.

"I don't think Antonio (Conte, Chelsea manager) was aware of the song. But the language in that song is not acceptable at all".

He tweeted: "Since I arrived, I have been able to feel your support every single day, you are awesome and I'd like to ask you to please respect everyone!"

According to subsequent reports, the FA have now asked Chelsea for their assistance in identifying those individuals responsible for starting the chant against Leicester, with stadium bans potentially in the offing. "The organisation expects Chelsea FC to ban any supporters who are identified as indulging in such abusive conduct and expects the police to take action against any identified perpetrators".

'We must be clear on this because it has to stop'.
