Manchester United to bid £92m for Arsenal target Thomas Lemar

Today, Arsenal are once again linked with Thomas Lemar...

According to The Mirror, Manchester United will battle Arsenal with a club-record move for Monaco winger Thomas Lemar during the January transfer window.

Quick and skilful whilst also possessing an eye for goal and a superb passing range, Lemar is the total package out on the left flank, with his ability to play narrow and help his midfield no doubt appealing to Mourinho, and he could move to reunite Lemar with worldwide team-mates Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial.

The Gunners were the early front-runners but struggled to agree terms with Monaco before L'Equipe reported that Liverpool had joined the chase after submitting a club-record £74m offer for Lemar's signature.

The young Frenchman was one of the big news stories 11 days ago on Transfer Deadline Day as Arsenal looked to sign him as a potential replacement for Alexis Sanchez.

Arsenal are still interested and will rekindle their interest, be it in January or next summer.

The Gunners had a British record £92m bid accepted by the Ligue 1 champions, only for the 21-year-old to reject the move to the Emirates, with reports suggesting he didn't want to make such a big move with so little time, and while on global duty.

The Monaco star was close to a switch to the Emirates on transfer deadline day after the Gunners struck a fee with the Ligue 1 champions, but were forced to end their pursuit after not leaving enough time to finalise the deal.
