Pittsburgh-area focus group thumps Trump

"I do think there's blame on both sides. you also had people that were very fine people on both sides", Trump said during a White House press conference, according to CNBC.

"I guess I question what he's trying to do, and don't fully understand it", said Russell Stitt, a Republican who voted for Mr. Trump.

Sciullo, Rush and other focus-group members said Trump lacks empathy, lacks social skills and doesn't seem to understand that when he speaks as president, he speaks for the nation. The separate survey of 4,791 adults between August 8 and August 21 also found that 32 percent of Trump disapprovers were most concerned by Trump's policy/conduct, compared to 25 percent who named his policies as what concerned them most. And another attendee said the president uses Twitter as a "weapon" against enemies. Trump supporters are more likely to call the media a bigger threat at 75%, than Hillary supporters who say white supremacists at 80%.

The poll was conducted jointly by Anderson Robbins Research, a Democratic polling firm, and Shaw & Company Research, a Republican company. Positive views on the economy are the highest they have been in more than a decade.

Christina Lees, an independent who leans Republican and voted for Mr. Trump, declared that "everybody knew he was a nut", but that they hoped for him to achieve good things when they backed him. But there comes a point in time when you have to become professional. Mr. Trump is the first president in American history to not have previously served in the government or the military.

"In some aspects, he's nearly turning into a politician", Mr. Rush said.

Voters are split on whether Mr. Trump is tough enough on Russian Federation, with 52 percent saying he is not tough enough, 35 percent thinks he's "about right" in his approach to Russian Federation, and 6 percent believe he is "too tough". "He's let me down".

15-21 among 1,893 adults, finds that 15% of Americans say they agree with Trump on all or almost all issues, while another 18% say they agree with him on many but not all issues.

Mr. Trump was described as "crazy", an "abject failure", "unique", "unfit", "outrageous" and "can't get out of his own way".

Even among Republicans and GOP-leaning voters, just 34 per cent "like" Trump's conduct.

John Kelly, the president's new chief of staff, was labeled a "babysitter" with his 'finger in the dike'.

He won the state by a thin margin of 44,000 votes, and if this focus group - along with his plummeting approval ratings - are representative of what those in the state feel toward the president, he should feel uneasy about his future in a state many cite as a primary reason he was elected.

Four people said of him, "Don't know".
