Tom Cruise injured jumping between buildings during filming of Mission: Impossible 6

The extent of the injuries Cruise sustained this weekend isn't clear at the time of writing, but by the looks of the video, he suffered quite a bit of pain. He is seen pulling himself up on the wall of the building he leaped toward, but then has difficulty walking before members of the film crew come to his assistance.

Video footage has emerged of Tom Cruise sustaining an injury after performing a stunt for his upcoming movie "Mission Impossible 6".

Deadline has reached out to Paramount for comment.

Cruise is no stranger to stunt work, having performed all manner of unsafe stunts in past "Mission: Impossible" flicks - including hanging onto the exterior of a jet plane as it took off.

The film, the sixth instalment in the "Mission: Impossible" franchise, is being directed by Christopher McQuarrie.

He has been filming characteristically risky scenes in Paris, where he rode a motorbike into a vehicle before flying through the air, and Oxfordshire, where Cruise was photographed parachuting at the beginning of the month.

"Mission: Impossible 6", also starring Rebecca Ferguson, Henry Cavill and Simon Pegg, is set for release in July 2018.

David Ellison told Collider: "What Tom is doing in this movie I believe will top anything that's come before".

The father-of-one - he shares 11-year-old daughter Suri Cruise with his ex-wife Katie Holmes - is known for filming his own action scenes, and he's not afraid to push himself.
