Ousmane Dembele Suspended By Borussia Dortmund

Ousmane Dembele Suspended By Borussia Dortmund

"We tried to reach him but couldn't", Bosz told Sky Deutschland.

Alongside Dembele, Barcelona have also seen a £90m offer for Liverpool's Philippe Coutinho rejected outright, but they are likely to return to both Dortmund and the Reds with improved bids in time.

The pair have made it known to their respective clubs that they want to leave, but whilst Coutinho is refusing to go to war with Liverpool, the same can not be said of Dembele. We do not know why.

Barcelona have made Dembele top target this summer after selling Neymar to Paris Saint-Germain for a world record £198million fee.

He has been suspended until next week, Dortmund said.

Following the reports, Dembele failed to show up for Dortmund's first-team training session today and did not answer the phone when contacted by the club.

It is also believed that Dortmund have slapped a €150m price tag on Dembele, but Barca are looking to chop off €30 million from it before agreeing on a deal.

"As there is no other offer on the table, a transfer by the player to FC Barcelona is not at this time expected nor now very likely", said a club statement.

Chelsea, Liverpool, staying at Arsenal - what would be best for Oxlade-Chamberlain?

It is understood that the player told Liverpool yesterday he would prefer to make the move to Spain if a deal could be agreed between the two clubs. "So what they pay in the end doesn't matter".

Dembele made a courageous decision last summer to resist the advances of Barca and Madrid to move to Dortmund from Rennes and ensure his development wouldn't be restricted by a lack of game time.

Dembele can thrive from either flank, providing goals and assists in abundance.

Borussia Dortmund bought Ousmane Dembele just last summer from Rennes, but it looks like they're going to have to offload the Frenchman already, with Barcelona heavily interested in the talented youngster.
