'Carpool Karaoke: The Series' premieres with Will Smith turning up the beat

Based on tonight's premiere episode, with Corden and Will Smith, "Carpool Karaoke" is struggling a little to find a standalone spark outside the world of "The Late Late Show". The below sneak peek also shows Alicia Keys, John Legend, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jessica Alba, Ariana Grande, and LeBron James doing their best insane Carpool performances.

"I talked to Barack at about it", he said.

But Corden, who is an executive producer on the show said that the family should decide whether it is aired.

During his time of the debut episode, Corden learnt that Smith wrote his first rhyme when he was just 12 and commercially released at 16. James Corden spoke about the episode, which was reportedly filmed on July 14, less than a week before his death.

The first episode of Apple's Carpool Karaoke - starring Late Late Show host James Corden, and actor Will Smith - is now available to watch on Apple Music.

Smith said: "You can not beat your friends in high school knowing you have a hit record on the radio". "Shake the Room", a tune Smith recorded with his then musical partner DJ Jazzy Jeff. "The only answer I know is to raise our babies with every ounce of love I have left".

So I can't in good conscience recommend that you sign up for Apple Music. Other shows will feature a succession of hosts and a star-studded lineup of singers, including Alicia Keys and John Legend, Ariana Grande and Seth MacFarlane, and Blake Shelton and Chelsea Handler.

The preview clip teases the full episode, in which the duo goes off roading and crashes a wedding.
